About Me

I am a Naturopathic Doctor with a strong interest in pain and stress management, mental health, digestive health and hormone health.

I work with individuals suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, migraines, depression, anxiety and more.

I have a Master’s of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of British Colombia. This gives me a strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, which helps compliment my current practice of alternative medicine.

I hold certificates in Intravenous Infusion Therapy and meet the Standards of Practice for Prescribing in Ontario. I am also a member of both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. But let’s delve more into how I got here:

My Story

There are many kinds of pain: mental, emotional and physical to name a few. For me, my emotional pain first started in childhood: I put continuous pressures on myself to succeed and was always involved in numerous activities, working, studying, and seeing friends and family. I didn’t know how to stop or slow down. I couldn’t accept my limitations and I kept comparing myself to others. Enough just wasn’t enough.

In other words, I wasn’t happy unless I was the best and constantly busy to the point of burnout. I knew it was coming, but I just wasn’t willing to accept it because I was so afraid of feeling useless. I just kept going until, one day, my mind and body had enough and I couldn’t get out of bed. I was emotionally and physically drained. My body hurt, my mind wept and my heart broke. I was lost, I was scared and I needed help.

I sought peace, patience and understanding, starting with the mind. I attended my first mindfulness based 8-week meditation course to learn mindset and positive thinking. The change was hard and today it is still a work in progress. Nonetheless, I saw how pain and stress could have a detrimental impact on oneself and how one’s mindset could help alleviate these struggles. I learned that my feelings stemmed from deeper imbalances in my body, which required me to dig deeper. This was the start of my healing journey.

On a personal note: I love food, singing and the great outdoors. I speak both English and Greek. I love to travel, read and spend time with friends and family. I am a proud mother of two and enjoy sharing my experiences about parenting and caring for young children naturally with other mothers. I am excited about what naturopathic medicine can do for you!
